RENT

I just got home from seeing "RENT" at the Mandell theater on Drexels campus in Philadelphia. 11th Hour Theatre Company and MPIRP put on an amazing performance! I went out to support a friend, Jessica Simkins, the production stage manager, and wow what a show! What a wonderfully talented cast and crew! Thanks for making me feel supper inspired... to paint, draw, write, sing and all out create!

Making It

If you haven't already made it out to "Making it" the UArts alumni show, you should try to stop by and see it. 40 works from recent UArts grads were selected for this show. My Venus painting was picked and is even printed on the flyer! My studio mate Ashley also has a painting up in the show and the work looks great! Check it out if you get the chance.

I'm very close to finishing the Venus painting! but instead of finishing now, I've decided to start a new painting so that I have something to work on right away. I'm trying to avoid that moment when I take down a finished painting and there is nothing to look at besides the colorful tape stuck to my wall, and I'm left to think what's next...

I'm going to start a painting of the chemical elements of Mercury! its going to be a it smaller then the last two, only 30"X30"

Also I've been thinking a lot lately about going back to oil painting. I really miss the vibrant colors of oils. but my work is very difficult to do with paints that dry slowly.
